Welcome to Not Too Geeky

The intent of this site is to inform and educate readers and listeners about topics related to online interactions and technology. Geekies things, explained in plain English. Not Too Geeky explores a wide range of topics spanning how to blog without getting into trouble to tweaking a game to get the most out of it. Read. Listen. Learn. Be Informed. Not intimidated.

And who are you anyway?

My name is Tyme White and I am the hostess of this blog. Tyme came from the shortened version of my first AOL screen name Tyme2BReal…and it stuck. Everyone calls me Tyme. My first web site was launched in 1997 on a hosted service. I moved that site to my own domain name in 1998 and I’ve had a web site about something or other ever since. In truth it was a blog - me voicing my opinions on what I was passionate about (gaming). Yes, I’m female and I love gaming. I intend to get back into that because it’s a real passion of mine. There are still references to some of my gaming sites online - for example:

Many thanks to both the Siege Machine and Dungeon Siege Tyme for many of the early article links.

Yup, that’s me. I use to run the Dungeon Siege Tyme site, along with many others. Just to clarify, even though I love gaming I am not a kid. I’ve experienced a lot in life and learned a lot from those experiences. I don’t claim to be an expert because I am always learning new things. I’m a work in process and so are my web sites.

The last thing I want to say is that I am not one to crave attention, the spotlight, etc. I am more the behind the scenes person which is why it is almost killing me to write this page. smile There are some blogs where you can tell they live off of how many readers they have, how many people linked to them, how much they are being talked about, whether it is positive or negative. I’m the exact opposite of that. If what I write benefits one person it’s worth while to me. So this many never be the most popular blog because that is not my intent. It’s to help, grow, share and learn.
