The New 9rules

Launched today! I’m so excited - a new 9rules.

I will be writing more later about it. Scrivs trusted me to do some .htaccess stuff. People, I almost passed on when he asked me to do it. More coming…I promise.

Yes, Mike designed it with Scrivs. I was STUNNED because my IM started going off like a chatroom. I think more people hit my up on IM than my blog lol

Thank you everyone. I’m glad you all like it. I am so incredibly humbled right now.

Are you going to put your site back in 9rules? I like the design. I made my boyfriend look too. He needed a GTA break.

Did you know some of your communities have bugs? I’m with everyone else. The new design is much better than the last one. Congrats to you.

You guys hit back strong and I love it. All those down and out comments. Did you see the new sites they added? I’m no designer but my eyes glazes at Smashing Magazine. I immediately bookmarked the site. I can learn a lot.

Tyme - you have it bookmarked? /runs

I’m still struggling on the Season, Reason entry you wrote. The new 9rules design is fabulous. I saw you log on, your status changed and I looked immediately.

What are you struggling with, if you want to share.

I saw it shortly after you put it up. Easier to read. My browser loads it quicker. You all did a terrific job. Kudos to you.

Bruce, Tyme’s last entry threw a lot of people for a loop. You are not alone.

    13. Still Learning Says:

The change is sexy and a great improvement from the last one. I picked up a couple of the new sites.

Regarding her last article, I came up with the answers I knew I would but felt a finality I did not feel before.

    14. Bruce Kim Says:

Felix, when I read it the girl that came to mind was a girl in HR of all places. We have a policy at work that we can’t date employees as a preventative measure against sexual harassment so I’m blocked on how I can talk to her. We became friends when she went through a divorce and she helped me out when my died and I temporarily had to fill his shoes. She’s the one I keep coming back to in my mind. I don’t know what to do about it.

    15. Chandra D. Says:

      Congrats Tyme!

Finally, more relationships! Bruce, why don’t you spend time with each other. Communicate and see where the relationship naturally goes. If it is the real thing, one of you change jobs and go for it!

    16. Aaron Says:

Felix, man I laughed my ASS off when I saw their short but kiss ass list of new sites. Things that make ya go hmmm!

Bruce, just go with it man. A job isn’t worth losing a love over. It’s the ones you don’t see coming that end up being the real deal.

    17. Aaron Says:

Tyme - this is where you give your advice.

    18. Bruce Kim Says:

That’s my hang up. Do I quit first then try? If it didn’t work out that would be a waste. If I try first then quit I have to pray no one figures it out. Different departments so it wouldn’t be that hard I suppose. I don’t want to jeopardize her career because she’s moving up.

    19. Kelly Strom Says:

I surfed the site for a while and I like this one better than any of the others. You all should be feeling satisfied at a job well done. Cheers to you!

Bruce, don’t we all hit that speed bump sooner or later? With love there is always a challenge to overcome. The ones that do not let them get in the way make it until death do us part.

If you’ve had these feelings for an extended period and you two have been through challenging times together that implies love, a strong connection than infatuation. If you want to start slow, talk over lunch, over the phone, text messaging - privately (not Twitter) and if the connection is there the desire to have a deeper conversation will happen. You’ll talk about sex, desire to be around each other, have a more intimate conversation. That’s when the two of you can discuss the next steps, to continue on in your current positions or one of you begin job hunting.

In my experience fighting it does not work when the connection is real. It’s always there, the other person can feel it whether the two of you speak about it or not. The effort spent trying to fight and deny your feelings you could be experiencing happiness and pleasure. Good luck to you!

You seem very happy Tyme. Congratz. Bruce if you don’t try will it bother you? You fail when you don’t try.

    21. Emma Says:

I really like the new design over the old one. It downloads better on my browser. Thanks for your efforts guys!

    22. Jaheim Says:

I was looking for a stream with ya’ll doing your thing at launch. A co-worker said that could have been a distraction trying to do whatever you guys do at launch and keep an eye on the chat. Are you guys going to do a stream soon?

Bruce, man some women are worth it. My wife and I had a similar situation. She got a new job and I had to relocate. We’ve moved two times since then settling in but we’re happy. She’s my right-arm.

I saw Tyme come online and almost immediately her status changed. I got excited and I didn’t know what was going on. I came to the site, saw GO GO GO, so I opened up opened my cell and started browsing. Awesome Tyme. Tell Scrivs and Mike they killed it with the design.

Wonderful, much easier to read and doesn’t hurt my eyes being on the site awhile. Congratulations. Are you throwing a party?

    25. jitterbug Says:

WOW that’s a gigantic difference from the last theme. I like it much better though. The front page on the other theme was heavy, it caught my eye but after seeing it a couple of times it turned me off. This one is a keeper.

Bruce, follow your heart. The good ones stick by you through everything, that is how you can tell when it is right. If this is right you’ll conquer the job hurdle together.

    26. Blanche Says:

Tyme, I too saw your status change and I laughed when you said “One min, I have 100 IMs coming”. While I waited I looked at the new site and it’s the best skin yet. So simple but almost classic.

I showed my husband your last article and we laughed. Bruce, my husband and I work together. We love it but we were afraid at first. We love our business and because of that, we don’t let our fights get in the way. If you think about it, if we were “friends” we still would have to divide the business. When we fight we give each other space but don’t fight often, we talk things out. We had more differences of opinion on the direction we should take on our business than with our relationship LOL.

I like it a lot Tyme. You all hit another one out of the park. Enjoy this time, you all have earned it.

#9 (Felix) - I noticed that and I wondered how many of the previous members are scratching their heads, realizing they messed up. Tyme said in IM she has never mentioned participation to the members and the few that asked said, oh, that’s all? and stayed.

I found out about your new design when I saw your away message change. I prefer the new design on 9rules much more and I like the design on Chawlk too. Good luck to you and much success with your next round.

    29. Destinee Says:

Much love Tyme and crew. You did it again. Am I the only one that is glad the members that left are gone? I don’t miss them, I don’t remember half of them and the ones I do remember I didn’t like. I like your new additions a lot.

You guys ROCK ON! Slam dunk again. I never doubt you guys. Who gives a fuck if people don’t understand what you’re doing? When you buy a car, some jeans, furniture, a new house or whatever do you try to understand their business goals? Hell no, you either like the product or you don’t. Everyone loves you guys. Embrace the LOVE!

    32. Evil Philanthropist Says:

One never knows what to expect coming from your team and I like that. You don’t get old, you keep everyone on their toes and thank God and the heavens above you try new things.

Your team isn’t in it for the money and that is why I respect your team. You embrace people in your community but you’ll also tell those that aren’t a right fit to get the hell out. My wife said it’s like keeping a garden, you prune out the weeds so the plants can grow healthy.

Bruce, my wife and I are in business together. Have been for 12 yrs. You said you’ve been through tough times with your expected lady. If you talked through them, did not argue and fight, fixed your problems, moved on to the next thing and you feelings were just as strong on both sides, you have an angel. The women you have to fight, beg and plead with might have an appeal but they aren’t the ones that will last.

I wouldn’t say take it slow, just do it. Your relationship will go at its own pace. Like someone said above the ones that just happen, even if you think it shouldn’t, tend to be the ones that last over time. The ones that walk into your life out of the blue and bring so much into it. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I hardly see her at work because she’s on a different floor in a different department but we talk on IM every day. I was going to show her this discussion and chickened out.

    34. Tyme White Says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Just imagine my arms wrapping around you for a big hug!

Yeah, my IM was like a chat room except with a bunch of boxes trying to fit in one window. I’m sorry I couldn’t talk with all of you. I was sooooo hyped yesterday….still am.

Guess what? I got to do .htaccess this time. I know, you don’t know what that is but if I screwed it up people wouldn’t be able to go to the right URL (web address). AWESOME. This was the first time I wasn’t sitting around looking at the launch from the outside.

I WAS ON THE INSIDE THIS TIME BABY!!!

OMG, AWESOME. I cannot put it into words. And the love from all across the net. My inbox - wonderfully filled with such positive energy.

Can you tell I’m excited? HAHAHAHA! YEAH BABY!

    38. Felix Says:

Hailey, I pray they don’t let them back in. 9rules is a better place without their egos. The design community in general seems to be easy to conquer and get on top quickly. A guy named Brian made one great design and shot to the top. He was in 9rules. He hasn’t done anything better or equal to his first great design. I never understood why he got the accolades he received, on one great design.

Mike did one great design, then another, then another, and another. I don’t miss any of the people that left and since they aren’t in 9rules I hardly remember them anymore. The only reason why I remember Brian is because of Scrivs talking about him. Those people left an incredible bad impression on me.
