Tyme’s Thoughts: Plans & Blogging

This morning was a victorious for me. I finished a project that I had been working on for a while…a business plan for a large global company. When I am involved with a project that complicated I become absorbed in it. After working on a detailed plan it was really hard to blog on this site because I look around and see so many things I want to change.

I receive links to new blogs every day. Some of them are really good. Others I can tell they are winging it – they don’t have a solid plan. A blogger should think about what they want to write about before anything is published. Is it a personal blog or a professional blog? Should the two topics be mixed? If they are what are the consequences? How much of your personal life should you disclose? Is it an anonymous blog? If so, is the blogger paying close attention to the details disclosed?

Thinking about the bigger picture I look around Not Too Geeky and see a lot of the little details have changed. The vision is there but how I want to get there has changed, because I changed. That is why I apply a Systems Thinking approach to the site (looking at the whole picture not just parts of it separately) because when one little details changes it can affect the bigger picture.

The thrill of finishing a project like the one I completed is being able to carve out time to do something for myself. If I had Mike and Colin’s skills, I would be dangerous.
