What I hate about You Tube

Bloggers are heavily using You Tube lately. I can understand why, there is a lot of great content there. The problem is that bloggers aren’t checking how their You Tube insertion is coming up in their feeds. If they did, they would realize it doesn’t show up at all.

For example, NS4Life. This is how it looks in FeedDemon:

Not a clue that anything “should” be there. Now in Ryan’s case it’s not “too” bad. Since I know a video is supposed to be there, I know the site has been updated. Where it’s damaging is on a site like Valleywag because most times there are no videos. This is how the entry looked (missing the Ballmer video):

More and more bloggers are using You Tube without realizing the focus of their entry isn’t making it to newsreaders (readers). So if you’re using You Tube make sure you write the entry so your readers (no matter how they access your site) will know You Tube content is there.
